Our tour map is now available online for downloading and printing!  The participating artists are set and you will now begin to see our media and materials in local storefront windows and throughout Brooklyn and NYC neighborhoods.  We look forward to seeing you on October 24!  Bring your whole family and come experience the essence of Carroll Gardens and Red Hook Brooklyn through out local, talented artists!

Brooklyn Studio Tours | October, 24, 2009

Brooklyn Studio Tour is pleased to announce that we are organizing another Open Studio Tour on Saturday, October 24, 2009 from 11AM until 6 PM. The title for the tour will be “ARToberfest 2009!” Our objective is to help you show your work to the public so that you and your work become better known. In the past, Open Studio Weekends have been great successes and lots of fun too. In May, there were roughly 2000 BIS (Butts in Studios). We will provide publicity, posters and maps for you to hand out. All we need from you is your agreement to open your studio those days, your name(s), address with cross streets (so we can mark the map) and your medium.

Your cost is $35 per artist. This cost covers one artist; if there are others working in the same studio/building, an additional $35 fee is required for each additional artist participating. (we currently have interested parties who would like to be part of your studio for this event – if you are interested in hosting an artist, give us a call to discuss). NOTE: IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JOINING TOPSTAR IMAGES (WWW.TOPSTARIMAGES.COM), YOUR MEMBER FEE FOR THIS STUDIO TOUR WILL BE WAIVED. FUTURE TOURS WILL BE WAIVED WITH RECURRING MEMBER ANNUAL MEMBER FEE. 5/30 6-9PM at The Lucky GalleryOn Saturday, May 30, Lucky Gallery will have an Open House to commemorate its reopening and to celebrate Red Hook Carroll Gardens Open Studio Tour. The celebration will feature Laura Arena’s first solo exhibition in the Gallery, 5″x5″ @ $5, feature photos taken by Arena with her plastic camera of locations she has visited around the world. Learn more about Lucky Gallery, Lucky Sundays, upcoming exhibitions and events and witness the diverse rich artist community of Red Hook, Brooklyn.  Food and Drink will be provided. Tour Maps / Artist Directory Are Now Available!

Tour Maps are now available on the website and will be distributed throughout Brooklyn & Manhattan to begin heavily spreading the word that the end of May Red Hook & Carroll Gardens will be the places to be!

We have over 70 artists and expect to sign on some more before the May 30 (check and print out a new map just before on our website).

There is a link on the right side of the website - the PDF file is large (abouot 3MB) so please be patient.  We are working on reducing the file size to make it a quicker process.

Please click on the Artists link to see a full directory listing of each artist particiapting in the show and their website or email address.  The back of the tour map will tell you their art mediums.

Our postcards to promote our weekend tour on May 30 and 31 are now printed and can be picked up for your distribution out to your network, local storefronts by you, etc.  There are currently 2 locations where you can grab a stack of cards and then help us get the word out:

The tour map will be finalized this weekend to make sure all artists, gardens, food venues and live music locations are represented.  Once printed, you will again have the opportunity to pick some up and distribute.  In addition, the map will be available for downloading and printing on this site so the pulic will be able to easily have what they need on demand.

The tour is almost here!  Start spreading the word!  Even if you are not available to display your art this time around, it would be great to extend this event to your followers as we are looking to do a few of these a year at this point.

BWAC (Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition) is pleased to announce that we are organizing an Open Studio Weekend May 30 and 31 from noon until 6 PM.

Our objective is to help you show your work to the public so that you and your work become better known. In the past, Open Studio Weekends have been great successes and lots of fun too.

We will provide publicity, posters and maps for you to hand out. All we need from you is your agreement to open your studio those days, your name(s), address with cross streets (so we can mark the map) and your medium.

Your cost is $25 per studio. This cost covers one artist; if there are others working in the same studio/building, the fee is an extra $5 per each additional artist (we currently have interested parties who would like to be part of your studio for this event – if you are interested in hosting an artist, give us a call to discuss).  BWAC membership ( www.bwac.org) is encouraged but not required.

We hope that you open your studio May 30 and 31 to show the community your artwork.  Sign Up Deadline is April 24 at the very latest!!!!
